Successor Agency and Oversight Board

NOTICE REGARDING TRANSFER OF DUTIES:

Pursuant to SB 107, the Suisun City Oversight Board was replaced effective July 1, 2018, by the Solano Consolidated Oversight Board, a countywide entity staffed by the Solano County Auditor-Controller’s Office.

Information below will be maintained for a time for historic and transitional purposes.  Notices and agendas posted here will be maintained, and additional required notices will be added from time to time.

When the Redevelopment Agency dissolved in February 2012 pursuant to the California Health & Safety Code, two entities were created to oversee the dissolution process:

• Successor Agency, which consists of the City Council and meets concurrently with the Council as necessary
• Oversight Board

The Successor Agency is charged with winding down the Redevelopment Agency operations. The Oversight Board reviews and approves various Successor Agency actions, which are subject to review and action by the State Department of Finance, the Controller of the State of California, and the Solano County Auditor-Controller.

Oversight Board

Under State law, the Oversight Board is appointed by the following entities (the person in that role is listed in parentheses):

• The Board of Supervisors
• The Mayor
• The largest Special District
• The Solano County Superintendent of Education
• The Chancellor of the California Community Colleges
• The Board of Supervisors, a member of the public
• The Mayor, a Successor Agency employee

The Oversight Board generally meets once a month, as necessary, in the City Hall Council Chamber.  On July 1, 2018, all duties assigned to local city Oversight Boards will be transferred to a Countywide Oversight Board.
